Death Promised

"Birth is celebratory,
life is fulfilling,
and death is peaceful."

That is the World's promise to existence.

Yet, how does it keep such a nebulous promise?
When lives lived are threaded with uncertainty,
and not even the world itself is omniscient...

Death Promised is a short story I wrote for Spooktober Jam 2024 in 30 days.
